There are a few things that perturb me, like extremes like Pharisee attitudes or people who whip it up and party and don't even try to set apart time to worship God, but benchwarm it in church. That grieves the Holy Spirit. America has alot of freedoms. With freedom comes responsibility. Who is to say how you might act around all of that freedom and temptation when you never had a choice? While
Countries whose Christians are severely persecuted deserve a
seat of honor, Christians who really love the Lord stand out when there are every temptation in the book to succumb to.
Women need to wear their purity
as the badge of honor that it is.
Elders have experience that counts for alot. Being strict with
yourself is the best teacher. Too many are easily swayed by the world. *****I would love to not have a Charm School, but consult
women on how to command respect. It is not demanding it-
verbally, as so much as how you
carry yourself. People know who they can take advantage of and who they can't. Domestic abuse and physical abuse runs rampant
in this country. America puts a high premium on Counseling.
It is big business, but it is life changing when you add God to the equation. The ego has to be tamed and the ego can prevent people from seeking counseling. That can lead to repeating the same mistakes or being codependent or enabling.
We shouldn't take our brain for
granted. We have a conscious mind and a subconscious mind.
That's a fact. God gave us a brain to think with. The enemy tries to get into the back door- the subconscious if he can't make it
thru the front door- the conscious. The way of the world is to run from dealing with things by any means necessary. "Comfort" is the God. The name on the resume may as well read-Comfort. There is nothing
comfortable about the Christian
life without discipline. Our tombstone should not bear our
name and read-"The Comfortable
One". There is no honor in that.
We are not getting any younger and neither is this life. Opportunity comes to those who
wait and not just for those who
take the bull by the horns to make
it happen. The clock is ticking.
We need to be cognizant that
we have the Gifts of the Spirit- not only fruit- to
develop and share.
